Vascular Society of India Launches VSI-FEVS Fellowship with Successful First Module in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, India The Vascular Society of India (VSI) marked a significant milestone with the successful launch of its flagship educational program, VSI-FEVS (VSI Fellowship in Endovascular Surgery). The inaugural module of this groundbreaking initiative was held in Hyderabad and witnessed enthusiastic participation from 23 vascular surgery residents across the country.

The one-of-a-kind fellowship aims to enhance the skillset of budding vascular surgeons by offering hands-on, simulator-based endovascular training — a first in India at this scale. This carefully curated program is designed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world clinical application, ensuring the next generation of vascular surgeons is equipped with advanced technical expertise in endovascular procedures.

The first module in Hyderabad focused on foundational aspects of endovascular surgery. Residents underwent rigorous training through simulation, receiving one-on-one guidance from national-level experts. The session covered catheter techniques, angioplasty, stenting, and procedural planning using advanced endovascular simulators.

Speaking about the initiative, one of the senior mentors involved shared, “This program reflects VSI’s commitment to educational excellence and clinical innovation. It’s not just a training platform but a vision to standardize endovascular education across India.”

The initiative has been widely applauded by faculty, participants, and industry observers alike. Many have praised the Society for investing in structured, immersive learning at a time when minimally invasive vascular procedures are becoming the global standard of care.

With the success of the first module, VSI is set to roll out additional modules across various Indian cities, eventually creating a network of well-trained, confident vascular surgeons ready to lead the future of endovascular interventions.
