Thiruvalla | May, 2025 — In a groundbreaking step towards prioritizing mental health within the healthcare system, Believers Church Medical College Hospital (BCMCH) inaugurated its first-ever Mind Matters Clinic today at the Department of Family Medicine.
This mental health well-being clinic is part of the Minds Matter Project—a collaborative initiative by the Departments of Psychiatry, Family Medicine, and Human Resources. Designed to offer psychological support and promote mental health awareness, the clinic will serve hospital staff, students, and patients every Tuesday from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

The inauguration was marked by an insightful introduction by Dr. Chithira Thomas, Senior Resident, Department of Psychiatry. Dr. Thomas laid out the clinic’s core objectives, the range of mental health services it aims to provide, and its larger mission of integrating mental health care into everyday clinical practice.

This initiative highlights BCMCH’s commitment to building a culture of compassionate care, where mental health is given equal importance as physical well-being. The Mind Matters Clinic stands as a bold and timely move, especially in the current era where mental wellness is being recognized as essential to holistic healthcare.
