Ludhiana, April 15 Dr. Kuldip Singh, Professor of Surgery at Dayanand Medical College (DMC), Ludhiana, has emerged as a trailblazer in the field of laparoscopic surgery, gaining international acclaim for revolutionizing gallbladder stone treatment in developing nations. In 1991, Dr. Singh introduced a groundbreaking technique to tackle complex gallbladder cases using laparoscopic surgery, a method that was rarely available in low-resource countries at the time.

Dr. Singh made history by becoming the first surgeon from the developing world to successfully perform advanced laparoscopic procedures, earning recognition on the global surgical stage. In 2000, he became the first laparoscopic surgeon from Northern India to deliver a guest lecture at the prestigious Seventh World Congress of LaparoEndoscopic Surgery in Singapore.

Furthering his mission to share knowledge and innovation, Dr. Singh demonstrated his surgical technique in Pakistan in 2003. His leadership was recognized when he was elected President of the Indian Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons in 2004 and later as President of the Indian Association of Gastro Endo Surgeons from 2006 to 2008.

In acknowledgment of his contributions to global surgical advancement, Dr. Singh was conferred the prestigious Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS) of England in 2006. He also represented India on the Governing Board of the Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia Association, solidifying his role as a visionary and global ambassador for minimally invasive surgery.
